In 1989 the Pennsylvania State University commissioned this painting, which portrays Old Main and the front lawn in the gentle sunshine of a spring afternoon. The artist, David Keeling, oversaw the painting’s reproduction as offset lithographs, which were printed on acid-free, museum-quality paper to ensure their color and durability.

Mr. Keeling signed each print before they were double-matted and framed in a gold-lipped, mahogany-stained, varnished, wood molding. Then the Alumni Association offered them for sale to the University’s alumni and friends.
